Juvederm Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance that keeps skin moisturized and soft. Juvéderm dermal fillers are a non-surgical option that contain a modified form of HA that can smooth out facial folds and wrinkles, add volume to the lips, and contour facial features that have lost their volume and fullness due to aging, sun exposure, illness, etc. Facial balancing and rejuvenation can be carried out with a variety of dermal fillers within the Juvéderm family. These dermal fillers are injected under the skin with a very fine needle or cannula by one of our talented injectors. This produces natural appearing volume under wrinkles and folds which are lifted up and smoothed out. The results can often be seen immediately.
We recommend a consultation with one of our highly skilled injectors to find out the best utilization of these products to determine which is right for your area(s) of concern.

Questions & Answers
Juvéderm Injections can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to a full hour depending on the areas you are treating. The product contains a pain-reducing lidocaine to help manage pain or discomfort. In some cases, we use a topical numbing cream as well to ensure your comfort during the treatment. Once your treatment is complete, you will be given instructions on aftercare and some ice for general swelling.
Once you’ve had your consultation to ensure you are a good candidate for Dermal Fillers, you can prepare for your treatment by avoiding the consumption of alcohol and using anti-inflammatory medications in the days before treatment as this can increase your risk of bruising. We also ask that you refrain from any dental work two weeks before and after your appointment as this increases your risk of infection.
The results of Dermal Filler are typically seen immediately after treatment, but results vary from patient to patient. The duration of Dermal Filler varies by product, with a range of 6 months to two years.
Swelling and bruising can occur and could be present for up to two weeks after your treatment. You will be given instructions on when and how to massage your Dermal Filler, if applicable. We also ask that you avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, limit your sun exposure, and avoid excess alcohol and salt consumption to prevent any additional bruising or swelling.
Most patients are pleased with the results of Dermal Fillers. However, like any cosmetic procedure, there is no guarantee that you will be completely satisfied. There is no guarantee that wrinkles and folds will disappear completely, or that you will not require additional treatment to achieve the results you seek. While the effects of Dermal Fillers can last longer than other comparable treatments, the procedure is still temporary and may be effective for variable lengths of time. Dermal Fillers will not stop the process of aging.
