Earlobe repair is an outpatient procedure that may be performed in the office. We use local anesthesia to ensure your comfort prior to repairing the earlobe. While some earlobes may need closure, others may require a more complex reconstruction. Our plastic surgeons will evaluate your condition and ensure you are a good candidate for an earlobe repair.

An earlobe repair is an outpatient procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia in the clinic. Our plastic surgeons will provide a formal medical evaluation and exam when you arrive for earlobe repair. We will take photos of your earlobes before the procedure. After determining that you are a good candidate for an earlobe repair, we will clean the earlobe and use local anesthesia to numb the earlobe. We will remove excess skin and potentially rotate some of the tissue depending on the shape of the earlobe to achieve a youthful, rounded earlobe appearance. Finally, we use small sutures to close the incision. Patients may have a fine scar when the incision fully heals.

It is expected to experience some discomfort and swelling in the first few days after your procedure. Most patients can return to work the same day or the following day.
