Dysport is a type of neurotoxin that is similar to Botox, as it is used for lessening and eliminating deep wrinkles. Dysport is injected into the muscle to weaken it to the point that it cannot contract and form stubborn lines. Once you’ve had your consultation to ensure you are a good candidate for Dysport, you can prepare for your treatment by avoiding the consumption of alcohol and using anti-inflammatory medications in the days before treatment as this can increase your risk of bruising.
Dysport typically takes about takes about 10-14 days to fully settle in and can last anywhere from 3-4 months, but results vary from patient to patient.
There is minimal to no down-time after a Dysport treatment. You may experience redness, itching and some swelling at the injection sites, but this typically lasts only 24-48 hours.
After your treatment, you will want to avoid exercise for at least 24 hours, lying flat for 4-6 hours after your treatment, and refrain from massaging or touching your injection sites as this may cause the Botox to migrate and effect your overall results.
