The CO2 laser is our most aggressive ablative laser resurfacing treatment that treats uneven skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and acne scaring by precisely removing thin layers of the skin with minimal damage to surrounding areas. Areas that the CO2 laser can treat are face, neck, decolletage, and hands. This procedure does require a full consultation with one of our physicians.
Questions & Answers
You will be given instructions, as well as a skin care regimen to prepare for your CO2 Laser treatment. Ideally, you will start your skin care regimen 6 weeks before your CO2 Laser treatment to ensure the best results.
You can expect about 7 days of social downtime following your CO2 Laser treatment. You will notice that your skin is pink or red immediately following the procedure. You will need to apply ointment for 4-5 days, while your skin is peeling. After about 5-7 days, you will see your new skin and will be able to apply makeup as desired. Your skin may appear pink (like a windburn or light sunburn) for weeks after the procedure but, can easily be covered with makeup. You will be given step-by-step instructions for post-op care following your CO2 Laser treatment.
