CoolSculpting® works through “cryolipolysis” which is essentially a procedure that uses a precisely controlled cooling method to target, cool, and destroy fat cells. It’s so specific that it destroys the fat cells without damaging anything else in the area. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you. Once the applicator is secured to your skin using a vacuum, the cooling begins. One applicator treats one area, and each area takes about 35 minutes to treat. Most people have multiple areas to treat, so your treatment may take longer. During the CoolSculpting® treatment, you may feel a bit cold and you may have some discomfort in the first few minutes of the treatment, this typically subsides after about 10 minutes.
Questions & Answers
CoolSculpting® treatments are HIGHLY customizable and do require a full consultation to ensure candidacy, number of treatments, and areas treated. Most patients will need multiple sessions of treatments to obtain desired results. The initial consultation only takes about 15-20 minutes, but actual treatment can range anywhere from one to four hours depending on our recommended treatment. We do offer complimentary Wi-Fi in the treatment room to help keep you entertained during your CoolSculpting® session.
CoolSculpting® is non-invasive, unlike most other methods of fat reduction. That means there are no needles, no surgery, no downtime. Our clients often spend procedure time reading, working on their laptops, or just relaxing during their treatment. CoolSculpting® is safe, FDA-cleared, and effective. After your treatment, you will be able to immediately return to your normal activities. Some patients do experience redness and/or bruising of the treatment area, but these typically resolve on their own. Results look natural and many patients see results as early as three weeks following treatment, with the most dramatic results after three or four months, but this does vary.
