How Do Drs. Kavali and Moak Perform Breast Augmentations?
A breast augmentation from Drs. Kavali and Moak is a personalized experience. These surgeons draw upon their years of experience to custom tailor each procedure, pairing state-of-the-art techniques with tried-and-true aesthetic solutions. Their surgical plans are thoughtfully designed to achieve results that exceed patients’ expectations.
Breast augmentation patients will travel to Monarch Plastic Surgery & Laser Center, not far from midtown Atlanta. Patients often visit the High Museum of Art and the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Piedmont Park.
Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak perform breast augmentation under general anesthesia. At the start of the operation, the surgeon creates precise incisions. She makes a pocket in the tissues of the chest and then inserts the implant through the incision into the tissue pocket. Proper positioning is key. Once both implants have been inserted into the breasts, the surgeon closes the incisions and then dresses them. She may insert plastic drains to prevent hematomas and seromas.
Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak’s Specialized Breast Augmentation Techniques
Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak offer a variety of specialized breast augmentation techniques for Atlanta patients. These surgical techniques can provide a number of benefits.
Breast Augmentation with Reduction: For patients interested in enhancing upper-pole fullness without enlarging the breasts, Drs. Kavali and Moak can perform a specialized breast augmentation technique. This technique involves pairing a breast reduction with implant-based augmentation. Natural breast tissue is reduced, and then an appropriately sized implant is placed in the breast.
Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation: Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak can perform fat grafting breast augmentation to enlarge the breasts without the use of implants. Liposuction is first performed, contouring areas like the abdomen and thighs while harvesting the excess fat. After this fatty tissue is purified, it is injected into parts of the breast, enlarging it by up to one cup size.
Augmentation Mastopexy: Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak can pair a breast augmentation with a breast lift, helping Atlanta patients restore perkiness while enhancing breast shape, size, projection, and symmetry. This comprehensive breast surgery is quite popular.
Mommy Makeovers Provide Breast Enhancement and More
If you’re interested in enhancing several areas of your body during a single procedure, you may benefit from a mommy makeover. This combination procedure can include a breast augmentation, a tummy tuck, a breast lift, vaginal rejuvenation, liposuction, and non-surgical med spa treatments; it’s fully customizable for each patient’s needs and goals.

Your Private Breast Augmentation Consultation

Out-of-town patients visiting Atlanta for breast augmentation are encouraged to enjoy everything the city has to offer. Consider a trip to downtown Atlanta, home to the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and more.
You’ll meet with Dr. Kavali or Dr. Moak, who will ask you about your aesthetic goals in detail. Bringing photos of your desired results will help, ideally of women who are near your age and body type. Your plastic surgeon will perform a physical examination and take measurements to aid with planning the procedure.
Your surgeon will discuss your breast augmentation options and help you make decisions regarding the details of the procedure. She will also use VECTRA 3D imaging software to give you a preview of your potential breast augmentation results. Questions are highly encouraged.
Selecting Your Breast Implant Size
Breast implants range in size from 120 to 800 cc (cubic centimeters) and can be even larger in certain cases. There’s no one perfect size option when it comes to breast implants; many patients prefer larger implants, while others prefer smaller ones.
The best breast implant size for you is the one that will help you achieve your goals. Because of this, choosing a size first requires taking various measurements, including breast width and ribcage width. With this information, Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak can recommend implant size options.
Choosing Your Breast Implant Type
Dr. Kavali and Dr. Moak will help you choose the right breast implant type for you. The two main options in terms of implant type are silicone implants and saline implants.
Silicone breast implants have FDA approval for patients ages 22 and older. These implants are filled with silicone gel, giving them a very natural feel, and are lighter than saline breast implants. They come pre-filled.
A special type of silicone implant, the gummy bear implant, is filled with a thicker silicone gel. When there is a rupture, the gel holds to its form and doesn’t leak. Because of this, these are often called form-stable implants.
Saline breast implants have FDA approval for patients ages 18 and older. These implants are filled with sterile salt water and feel firmer than silicone implants. They are also a less-expensive option. During a breast augmentation, saline implants are inserted empty and are then carefully filled with saline. This allows for smaller incisions and volume changes after insertion.
Which Implant Shape Is Right for You?
Breast implants come in two shapes: round and anatomical. Round breast implants are best for patients who want to improve their cleavage, since these implants provide enhanced upper-pole fullness. If these implants rotate, this does not affect the appearance of the breasts.
Anatomical, or teardrop-shaped, breast implants feature a natural slope, giving them a similar appearance to the natural shape of the breast. Because they’re teardrop-shaped, they increase lower-pole fullness.
What Is a Breast Implant’s Profile?
A breast implant profile is its amount of projection from the chest wall. Implants range from low profile to ultra high profile. Higher-profile breast implants are generally more dramatic and have a narrower base, whereas lower-profile breast implants are more natural and have a wider base.
Implant Placement: Above or Below the Chest Muscle
The placement of your breast implant relative to your chest muscle can determine various aspects of your breast augmentation results. Depending on your needs and preferences, your breast implant will be placed either above or below your chest muscle.
When a breast implant is placed submuscularly (below the chest muscle), it can result in a more natural shape. This placement can reduce the likelihood of a condition known as capsular contracture, where scar tissue contracts around the implant, causing pain and stiffness. It can also decrease the chance of visible implant rippling in the skin, since it’s the deeper placement option.
When an implant is placed subglandularly (below the glandular tissue and above the chest muscle), this can decrease the amount of pain experienced during breast augmentation recovery. The recovery period will also be shorter, and patients can see their final results more quickly.
Subglandular implant placement is best for patients who already have a fair amount of natural breast tissue. It offers reduced movement during chest exercises and other physical activities. It can also be helpful for patients who have a minor degree of breast sag.
Your Incision Location Options
At Monarch Plastic Surgery and Skin Renewal Center in Atlanta, GA, Drs. Moak and Kavali tend to prefer the inframammary incision. This incision, created in the breast crease, is quite safe and offers excellent results.
Another option, the transaxillary incision, can also be an excellent choice for breast enlargement surgery. It is created in the underarm.
Ideal Candidates for Breast Augmentation in Atlanta
Good candidates for breast augmentation in Atlanta are unhappy with the size of their breasts and are interested in enlarging them. Many candidates have lost breast volume due to weight loss or breastfeeding. Others never developed as much natural breast volume as they would have liked, while others still are feeling insecure about size asymmetries.
The best way to learn about whether you’re an ideal breast augmentation candidate is by visiting Drs. Moak and Kavali for a consultation. Our facility is conveniently located near a number of high-quality hotels, including Sheraton Atlanta Perimeter North Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, and Hyatt Place Perimeter Center. This makes Monarch the perfect option for out-of-town patients.
The Recovery Process After Breast Augmentation from Drs. Kavali and Moak
After your breast enhancement at Northside Hospital or Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center, you’ll be transferred to a recovery room. Once cleared to leave, you’ll be driven home by a friend or family member. They will stay with you for the first night to help out as needed. You’ll need to rest for around five to seven days to allow your tissues to heal.
Bruising, swelling, nausea, pain, and discomfort are common during breast augmentation recovery. Prescribed pain-control medication will reduce pain and discomfort during the healing process, and you’ll need to take antibiotics to prevent infections. To address swelling, wear a soft, supportive bra without underwire and apply ice packs.
You’ll need to take around one week off from work. You won’t be able to engage in physically taxing activities like sports and exercise for two to four weeks. Light exercise like walking is highly encouraged.
Follow-ups with Drs. Kavali and Moak are a vital part of the breast enlargement healing process. When you visit our facility, not far from the Atlanta History Center and the LEGO Discovery Center, your surgeon will check the status of your healing process, including your incisions. They will remove sutures and address any post-surgical complications, and they may clear you to resume various activities.
How Much Does a Breast Augmentation in Atlanta Cost?
The cost of a breast augmentation from Dr. Moak or Dr. Kavali depends on the details of each patient’s case. The specific techniques utilized can play a role in determining price, as can the cost of breast implants and anesthesia fees. The total time needed to perform the surgery can also affect cost.
For patients who are interested in financing options, we’ve partnered with Alphaeon Credit and CareCredit. These companies offer financing plans for breast augmentations and our other procedures and treatments.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
CAN I GET A BREAST AUGMENTATION WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING?
It’s best to avoid breast augmentation surgery while pregnant or nursing, since surgical complications may potentially occur. After all breastfeeding is complete, patients can arrange their breast augmentation consultation.
CAN I GET A BREAST AUGMENTATION IF I WANT TO HAVE KIDS IN THE FUTURE?
While patients can safely get breast augmentation surgery before having kids, it’s generally recommended to wait until after. This is because pregnancy and breastfeeding can change the proportions of the breasts, potentially affecting results.
CAN SILICONE BREAST IMPLANTS GIVE ME BREAST CANCER?
Though there was fear about this in the past, silicone breast implants generally don’t increase the risk of breast cancer and are considered quite safe. Textured implants have been associated with an increased risk for a different kind of cancer, Breast-Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). Because of this, we prefer to use smooth breast implants instead. Please follow this link to find out more about BIA-ALCL.
